Now you can wear Pepsi

Fancy a Pepsi T-shirt? Or a 7Up or Mountain Dew one? Or how about a pair of Pepsi sunglasses? PepsiCo is getting into the apparel and accessories business in India.

PepsiCo’s licensing and merchandising programme is launching in India through an agreement with License India.

Sally Barnes, head, Pepsi licensing programme in India and vice-president, License India (a subsidiary of Franchise India Holdings Ltd.), said, “Pepsi is an iconic brand that associates strongly with the Indian youth. It can easily be extended as a lifestyle fashion brand.”

“Prices would range between Rs 200 and Rs 1,000-plus depending on the product. These will be affordable, aspirational products. Imagine a pair of Pepsi sports shoes available at Rs 1,000 where a pair of Nike sports shoes comes for around Rs 4,000,” Barnes said.
